Day 7

I know it looks like we missed a day - that's because we did.  We had no WiFi on Sunday so we couldn't get on-line.  After spending the night in questionable diggs, dinner at the Silver Legacy (where David won 40 bucks playing blackjack) we left Reno the following morning around 9:30.  It was to be a rest day, but weather forced us to move on to Eureka.  The ride was beautiful as usual.  We only stopped a couple times for pics and some are below.  Once we got away from "the city" it was one vista after another.  The best part of the ride was probably the run through Lassen National Park.  It is unbelievable.  We did run into rain 30 miles out and kept it until we arrived.  It also was to be a rest day but weather drove us on again.  So we left for Monterey this morning around 9.  It rained all the way south so we didn't get to see anything we intended to.  We did drive through the Redwoods and stopped for one pic.  We tried route 1 but turned around because it wasn't safe in the rain with pine needles on the road.  So after a long, wet day we arrived here at 6:15 or so.  Tomorrow was also to be a rest day but weather again will drive us south to Lompoc.  It's supposed to be partly cloudy tomorrow with heavy rain forcast for Wednesday.  We'd rather rest on a rainy day.  It's a short ride, 140 miles with lots of things to see on the way.  Hopefully we'll have a rest day there.
